FESTIVAL NEWS
Our town has plenty to celebrate in 2012- the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, the 2012 Olympics here in Britain and of course but on a somewhat smaller scale Eccleshall Festival. The Festival is held every other year and this year will be the 31st.
Local clubs and organisations are being asked to provide items for the nine day long Festival programme. Saints Alive will be staging a concert on Sunday 24th, the Eccleshall Support Group of the Katharina House Hospice will be having a bingo session, the Eccleshall Singers will be having a concert on Saturday 16th, the Ecclian Society will be staging their annual Open Gardens weekend on 16th / 17th and we hope that others will join in.
The highlight of the nine days of festivities will be the Street Market on Saturday 23rd June between 10am and 4pm. We will once again ask local residents not to park on the high street for that day and the town centre businesses to get into the Festive spirit with stalls and window displays.
The festival is a time to show ourselves and others just what Eccleshall is all about, our clubs, our businesses and the people and places that make up Eccleshall.
Street Market Stall Bookings
Each year we ask the town centre businesses and residents if they would like a stall in front of their premises. These are the sdp[aces that are booked first.
Then at a day to be arranged our Market Stall people will be in the library between 10am and 12 noon to take bookings from Eccleshall clubs, organisations and individual people. Once all this is done then we open the booking to people from outside the town. This would customarily exclude businesses that would compete with our own local businesses.
If you have any questions about the market stalls please get in touch with Libby Dale on 01785 850124.
2012 Eccleshall guide
Preparation work on the printed version of the 2012 Eccleshall Guide is underway and local businesses and clubs are being asked for their contributions.
If you would like to place an advertisement in the printed guide please get in touch before the end of January.
Clubs and organsiations are also asked to send in current details of their activities together with contact details.
